Cedarhurst Senior Living in Lawrence, KS is seeking a Certified Medication Technician (CMT) to administer medications and provide direct resident care under the Director of Nursing. The role emphasizes safety, documentation, and adherence to individualized care plans, with collaboration across physicians, families, and supervisors.

The CMT supports activities of daily living and helps residents maintain independence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current state-approved medication aide/technician certification required.
• Insulin certification preferred.
• CPR or BLS certification preferred.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care including medication distribution per individualized plan of care.
• Observe residents and communicate condition changes to physicians and supervisors.
• Document observations, interventions, and daily medication administration.
• Pass information to the next shift and ensure timely documentation.
• Record vital signs and monitor glucose levels as assigned.
• Maintain a safe, restraint-free environment and support fall prevention.
• Assist with activities of daily living and meals as needed.
• Coordinate with pharmacy and supervisors to ensure timely medication delivery.
• Participate in staff training and orient new employees.
• Encourage participation in facility activities and resident engagement.
