Job summary

The Landings of Smithfield in Smithfield, NC seeks a compassionate Medication Aide - SIC to support our clinical team by administering medications and delivering specialized care to residents.

You will document medication administration, monitor residents for side effects, store medications securely, and collaborate with nurses and physicians to ensure safe, person-centered care. A state Medication Aide certification is preferred, with on-site training available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• State certification as a Medication Aide preferred; on-the-job training available.
• Previous experience in senior care or assisted living preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medication safety and infection control practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications to residents as prescribed by physicians, ensuring proper dosage, timing, and documentation.
• Provide individualized care for residents with specific medical needs, including assistance with personal care and ADLs.
• Maintain accurate and timely medication records and documentation, including reporting any adverse reactions or medication errors to the supervising nurse.
• Monitor residents for side effects or changes in condition related to medication, notifying the healthcare team of any concerns.
• Ensure medications are stored safely and securely in compliance with state regulations and facility policies.
• Work closely with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible care and outcomes for residents.
• Follow all regulations, guidelines, and protocols for medication administration and safety.
