You will administer meds, monitor for reactions, maintain privacy, and follow infection-control procedures, reporting any errors to the Charge Nurse. Texas CMA certification and strong attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Holds a current Texas Medication Aide certification.
• Experience and competence in medication administration procedures.
• Communicates clearly and demonstrates patience, discipline, and professionalism.
• Pays close attention to detail and ensures accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Administer Medications: Dispense prescribed PO, topical, and rectal medications per orders and policy.
• Monitor and Report: Observe for adverse reactions or status changes and report promptly.
• Document Accurately: Record all medication administration in accordance with policies.
• Ensure Safety: Maintain control of the medication cart and a hazard-free environment.
• Protect Privacy: Safeguard the confidentiality of resident information.
• Adhere to Infection Control: Follow infection control procedures during administration.
• Report Errors: Immediately report any medication errors to the Charge Nurse.
