Qualifications

• Must hold a current Texas Medication Aide certification.
• Experience and competence in medication administration procedures.
• Clear communication, patience, discipline, and professionalism.
• Attention to detail and accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Administer Medications: PO, topical, and rectal medications per orders and policy.
• Monitor and Report adverse medication reactions or changes in resident status.
• Document Accurately: record all medication administration in compliance with policies.
• Ensure Safety: maintain medication cart and ensure a safe, hazard-free environment.
• Protect Privacy: safeguard the confidentiality of resident information.
• Adhere to Infection Control procedures during medication administration.
• Report Errors: immediately report any medication errors to the Charge Nurse.
