Qualifications

• Current Texas Medication Aide certification is required.
• Experience and competence in medication administration procedures.
• Clear communication and professional, patient demeanor are essential.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation are mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications (PO, topical, rectal) per orders and policy.
• Monitor for adverse reactions and changes in resident status and report.
• Document all medication administration accurately per policy.
• Maintain safe control of the medication cart and a hazard-free environment.
• Protect resident privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Follow infection control procedures during medication administration.
• Immediately report any medication errors to the Charge Nurse.
