Job summary

Hireology in Village of the Heights is seeking a dedicated Resident Assistant to support memory care residents and collaborate with nursing staff. You will assist with activities of daily living and help maintain a safe, compassionate environment.

As part of the team you will administer medications with RN delegation, keep resident records up to date, and participate in emergency response efforts while upholding privacy and HIPAA standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 6 months to 1 year of prior resident care experience, preferably with seniors.
• Delegation by a Registered Nurse for medication administration.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills, good judgment, and attention to detail.
• Understanding of HIPAA requirements.
• EOE/M/F/D/V

Responsibilities

• Exercise independent judgment in tasks beyond routine resident care.
• Administer medications as prescribed; monitor residents' responses.
• Assist residents with medications and supervise self-administration.
• Maintain residents’ records daily and document changes.
• Write weekly/monthly summaries addressing service plan issues.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the medicine supply room.
• Receive and manage reports on all residents.
• Count controlled substances with outgoing RMAs, ensuring accuracy.
• Provide direct resident care as described in the Resident Assistant Job Description.
• Follow proper procedures in emergencies and respond promptly to requests.
• Promote teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers.
• Attend all required in-service training sessions.
• Be an active member of the community’s emergency response team.
• Maintain high standards of appearance, cleanliness, and hygiene.
