Caswell House seeks a compassionate Medication Aide - SIC to support our clinical team in administering medications and providing specialized care to residents. This role emphasizes accurate documentation, safety, and effective communication with residents and families.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, state certification as a Medication Aide (preferred), and experience in senior care. On-the-job training is available, with a commitment to quality care and professional growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• State certification as Medication Aide preferred; on-the-job training available.
• Previous healthcare experience in senior care or assisted living is preferred.
• Knowledge of medication administration, safety protocols, and infection control practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members.
• Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications to residents as prescribed, ensuring proper dosage and documentation.
• Provide individualized care for residents with specific medical needs, including assistance with daily living (ADLs).
• Maintain accurate medication records and report adverse reactions or errors to the supervising nurse.
• Monitor residents for side effects or changes in condition related to medications and inform the healthcare team.
• Ensure medications are stored safely and in compliance with state regulations and facility policies.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to support resident care.
• Follow all regulations and safety protocols for medication administration.
