Job summary

Wexford House is seeking a compassionate Medication Aide - SIC to support our clinical team in administering medications and providing specialized care to residents. You will follow physician orders, document accurately, and monitor residents for adverse effects.

The role requires high school diploma (or equivalent) and state certification as a Medication Aide; prior senior care experience is preferred. We offer competitive pay, healthcare coverage, PTO, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• State certification as a Medication Aide preferred, on-the-job training available.
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in senior care or assisted living (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of medication administration, safety protocols, and infection control practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Medication Administration: Administer medications to residents as prescribed by physicians, ensuring proper dosage, timing, and documentation.
• Specialized Care Support: Provide individualized care for residents with specific medical needs, including assistance with personal care and ADLs.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate medication records and report any adverse reactions or errors to the supervising nurse.
• Resident Monitoring: Observe residents for side effects or changes in condition and notify the healthcare team as needed.
• Medication Storage & Handling: Ensure medications are stored safely and securely per state regulations and facility policies.
• Collaboration with Healthcare Team: Work closely with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal care.
• Compliance & Safety: Follow regulations and policies for medication administration and safety.
