Job summary

Hickory Village is seeking a compassionate Medication Aide - SIC to join our clinical team in Hickory, NC. You will administer medications, assist with daily living activities, and provide specialized care to our residents, while maintaining meticulous medication records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• State certification as a Medication Aide preferred, on-the-job training available.
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medication administration, safety protocols, and infection control practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications as prescribed by physicians, ensuring proper dosage, timing, and documentation.
• Provide individualized care for residents with specific medical needs, including assistance with personal care and ADLs.
• Maintain accurate and timely medication records and documentation, including reporting any adverse reactions or medication errors to the supervising nurse.
• Monitor residents for side effects or changes in condition related to medication, notifying the healthcare team of any concerns.
• Ensure medications are stored safely and securely in compliance with state regulations and facility policies.
• Work closely with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible care and outcomes for residents.
• Follow all regulations, guidelines, and protocols for medication administration and safety to ensure the highest standard of care.
