Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• State Medication Aide certification preferred; on-the-job training available.
• Experience in healthcare, esp. senior care or assisted living.
• Strong knowledge of medication administration, safety and infection control.
• Effective communication with residents, families and team members.
• Compassion for the elderly and patient, empathetic care.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications to residents as prescribed, ensuring proper dosage and timing.
• Provide individualized care for residents with specific medical needs and assist with ADLs.
• Maintain accurate medication records and documentation; report adverse reactions.
• Monitor residents for side effects or changes in condition; inform healthcare team.
• Store and handle medications safely according to state regulations.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, and other professionals for optimal care.
• Follow all regulations and safety protocols for medication administration.
