Job summary

Parsons Residential is seeking a compassionate Medication Aide - SIC to support our clinical team in administering medications and providing specialized care to residents.

Ideal candidates will have a state Medication Aide certification, or be eligible for on-the-job training, and a background in senior care or assisted living. You will monitor residents, store medications securely, document changes, and collaborate with nurses and physicians to ensure optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • State certification as a Medication Aide preferred, on-the-job training available.
  • Previous experience in healthcare, particularly senior care or assisted living (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of medication administration, safety protocols, and infection control practices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members.
  • Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Medication Administration: Administer medications to residents as prescribed by physicians, ensuring proper dosage, timing, and documentation.
  • Specialized Care Support: Provide individualized care for residents with specific medical needs, including assistance with personal care and ADLs.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and timely medication records and report adverse reactions or medication errors to the supervising nurse.
  • Resident Monitoring: Monitor residents for side effects or changes in condition related to medication, notify healthcare team of concerns.
  • Medication Storage & Handling: Ensure medications are stored safely and securely in compliance with state regulations and facility policies.
  • Collaboration with Healthcare Team: Work closely with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Compliance & Safety: Follow regulations, guidelines, and protocols for medication administration and safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
