Great Lakes Management Co is seeking a Medication Assistant to administer medications to residents in a long-term care setting, following MAR and ensuring right drug, time, route, dose, and resident, with proper documentation.

Responsibilities include restocking the medication cart, maintaining confidentiality, reporting medication errors, and attending trainings with the nurse and supervisor. English proficiency, punctuality, teamwork, and adaptability are essential.

Qualifications

• Registration as a Trained Medication Assistant (TMA) preferred.
• Minimum six months experience in long-term care or assisted living.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Must prioritize and organize work effectively and efficiently.
• Must be flexible and adaptable to changing situations.
• Must work as a team member and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications to residents using the MAR as a guide.
• Prepare medications with right drug, time, route, resident and dosage.
• Ensure confidentiality of resident medications among staff and families.
• Document all resident concerns and actions legibly.
• Restock medication cart after passes and keep area orderly.
• Attend trainings and meetings as required by supervisor.
• Report medication errors immediately and act in resident's best interest.
