Job summary

CommonSail Investment Group is seeking an experienced Medication Aide to assist residents with daily medication administration and treatments in a senior living environment.

The role requires CMA, CPR/First Aid, and a high school diploma. You will work with a team to ensure patient safety, accurate documentation, and compassionate care across various resident needs, including memory care and daily living support.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Healthcare, geriatrics, caregiving, or elderly care experience preferred.
• Ability to adapt to various personalities and situations.
• Aptitude for dementia-related situations.
• Must recognize that errors can impact residents' safety.
• Patience, tact, cheerfulness, and enthusiasm to assist residents.
• Must be 18+ years old.
• Must have CPR and First Aid certification.
• Must have CMA certification.
• Must have a TB clearance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and administer medications and treatments as ordered by physician.
• Verify resident identity before administering medications or treatments.
• Follow hand-washing, universal precautions, and infection control policies.
• Order medications, supplies, and equipment as needed.
• Remove expired medications from carts and resident areas as required.
• Maintain accurate medication records for each shift.
• Review medication sheets for accuracy and completeness.
• Report discrepancies to supervisor promptly.
• Document important events in the 24-hour report.
• Assist with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Support residents with dining and daily routines.
• Ensure a clean, sanitary medication area and work station.
