Job summary

Orchard Senior Living in Georgia is seeking a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to administer prescribed medications and treatments under the supervision of the Health and Wellbeing Director. The role includes providing personal care and performing related tasks in accordance with each resident's care plan.

Qualified candidates must have a Georgia CMA registration, state-approved CNA training and CMA programs, current CPR, background checks, and the ability to document accurately.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Successful completion of a state approved nursing assistant training program and a state approved trained medication assistant program.
• Current certification in medication administration. Must be able to submit written competency test and skills check-off list prior to assuming position
• Must successfully clear a background check, TB skin test or x-ray, and health screening
• Current CPR certification
• Current certificate of training for successful completion of the five (5) hour initial fire safety training provided by the Rules and Regulations of the Georgia Safety Fire Commissioner

Responsibilities

• Administer physician ordered medication to resident's and maintain related medical records under the supervision of the Health and Wellbeing Director
• Verify identity of residents receiving medication and record name of drug, dosage, route, and time of administration on specified forms of records
• Presents medication to resident and observes ingestion or other application, or administers medication, using specified procedures
• Takes vital signs or observes residents to detect respond to specified types of medication and prepares report or notifies designed personnel of unexpected reactions
• Documents reasons prescribed drugs are not administered
• Adheres to medication administration policy
• May receive supply of ordered medications and apportion, mix, or assemble drugs for administration to resident
• Maintains Georgia state CMA requirements for assisted living communities (Rule 111-8-63-.20 5)
