A local transportation service provider is seeking a Transportation Driver in Westland, Michigan. The chosen candidate will be responsible for transporting program participants and delivering medical supplies. Duties include assisting individuals with special mobility needs, maintaining the vehicle, and ensuring safety during transport. Candidates must hold a Michigan CDL license and possess a high school education or equivalent, along with CPR certification. This role requires physical stamina and a commitment to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Valid unrestricted Michigan CDL license – Class A or B with Passenger endorsement.
• High school education or equivalent.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Experience in transporting individuals with special mobility needs.
• Ability to lift or carry 50 pounds or more and perform heavy physical effort.
• Medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Transports program participants to and from the program site or other assigned areas.
• Assists program participants to and from the vehicle safely.
• Participates in scheduled education programs and staff meetings.
• Utilizes safe body mechanics and transfer techniques.
• Secures wheelchairs and safety belts for wheelchair participants.
• Responsible for delivery of medication (average 125 meds/supplements per day).
• Cleans and maintains the bus as required.
