Job summary

Universal Health Services, Inc. seeks a Medical Assistant in Amarillo, TX to support physicians with patient care, vital signs, venipuncture, and documentation in EMR. You will prepare exam rooms and assist at the front desk as needed for efficient clinic flow.

The role requires Medical Assistant certification or progress toward it, High School diploma, and BLS certification. Strong communication and bilingual skills are valued in a busy multi-location practice.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant certificate required or must obtain within 6 months.
• Current BLS certification from American Heart Association on hire or within 30 days.
• Medical Assistant Certificate of Completion and/or one year experience.
• Familiarity with medical terminology required.
• Experience with patient check-in and check-out per clinic protocol.
• General medical office procedures.
• Understand end of day cash balancing and charge reconciliation per protocol.
• Proficiency in basic computer programs and operating systems (e.g., Microsoft Office).
• Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Must perform courteously and professionally in all interactions.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide variety of patient care duties under physician direction.
• Interview patients, measure vital signs, venipuncture and related procedures.
• Document in Electronic Medical Record per IPM guidelines.
• Prepare treatment rooms and assist in covering the front desk when needed.
