Job summary

Northwest Physicians Group in Amarillo, TX is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians in patient exams and procedures. You will interview patients, record vital signs, and prepare treatment rooms, while helping front desk tasks as needed.

The role requires Medical Assistant certification and familiarity with medical terminology. BLS certification is expected. The position offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities for professional growth within UHS affiliated networks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant certificate required or must obtain certification within six months of employment.
• Current BLS certification from American Heart Association upon hire or within 30 days and maintain it.
• Medical Assistant Certificate of Completion and/or one year experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Familiarity with medical terminology.
• Experience with patient check-in and check-out process.
• General medical office procedures.
• Understand end of day cash balancing and charge reconciliation process.
• Proficiency in basic computer programs and operating systems, such as Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

• Assist in examination and treatment of patients under physician direction.

• Prepare treatment rooms for examination and support front desk coverage as needed.
