DMC Multi-specialty Clinic - Commerce is hiring a Medical Assistant to provide direct nursing care under physician supervision in a busy medical office. You will support clinicians, maintain a clean environment, and assist with examinations and procedures at the Commerce location.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program or equivalent experience. CPR/BLS certification is required; Medical Assistant certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program or equivalent work experience is required.
• CPR/BLS Certification required; Medical Assistant certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Tenet HIPAA Compliance and privacy standards.
• Assists in patient assessment by taking vitals and history; notes chief complaint.
• Documents in medical records according to charting policy.
• Prepares equipment and assists physicians with treatments and procedures.
• Administers medications and performs venipuncture and CLIA-waved lab tests.
• Maintains clean, safe environment and stocks rooms for daily schedule.
• Complies with PPE requirements to protect staff and patients.
• Coordinates referrals and insurance pre-certifications as ordered by physicians.
• Answers phones and assists front desk with scheduling and referrals.
