Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Preferred: completion of a formal medical assistant training program.
• Work experience: experience handling confidential information in a fast-paced setting.
• Certifications: Medical Assistant Certification is required.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
• Clinical knowledge, computer proficiency, and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supports the patient and provider throughout the visit.
• Ensures patient and provider are prepared for the visit.
• Answers patient questions prior to leaving; prepares room for next appointment.
• Delivers excellent patient service via phone and in person.
• Completes registration and documents patient information as needed.
• Maintains clinical knowledge, skills, and credentials through development.
• Adheres to DOT/ workplace drug testing if applicable.
• Respects privacy and adapts communication to patient population.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
