Job summary

Yale New Haven Health in New Haven, CT is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians with patient care, room patients, and perform clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks. You will schedule appointments, manage charts, and provide information to patients to help them utilize the practice services.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited MA program or related certification; one year of MA or equivalent experience; BLS preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited medical assistant (MA) certificate program or related certification preferred (CNA/EMT/paramedic).
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care responsibilities as assigned including preparing patients for visit and assisting providers.
• Performs administrative responsibilities such as chart management, scheduling, and handling patient records.
• Maintains infection control and cleans examination/procedure rooms and equipment.
• Ensures timely and accurate billing and documentation.
• Coordinates with Care Coordinator for patient-centered initiatives.
• Attends staff meetings and participates in quality improvement activities.
