Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a formal medical assistant training program preferred.
• Experience handling confidential information in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Medical Assistant Certification required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Supports the patient and provider throughout the patient visit.
• Ensures the patient and provider are prepared for the visit.
• Answers patient questions prior to leaving; prepares room for next appointment.
• Provides excellent patient service through effective communication in person and by phone.
• Completes patient registration and other documentation as needed.
• Maintains clinical knowledge, skills, training and credentials through ongoing development.
• Complies with Department of Transportation Workplace Drug and Alcohol Testing if in occupational health.
• Adapts communication to diverse patient populations.
