Job summary

Care New England seeks a Medical Assistant to support daily clinical operations across primary care and specialty practices in Rhode Island. The role involves rooming patients, vital signs, medication reconciliation, and assisting with EKGs and immunizations under licensed providers.

Strong EPIC proficiency and patient-centered interpersonal skills are essential. Vigilant in infection control, you will coordinate follow-ups, prepare charts, and maintain inventory while ensuring HIPAA compliance

Qualifications

Completion of a medical assistant training program or 6 months to 1 year of related experience.
Proficiency with EPIC or other EMR systems and accurate documentation.
Ability to perform vital signs, injections, phlebotomy, and assist with procedures.

Responsibilities

Perform rooming procedures with patient identification, vitals, and history intake.
Assist with EKGs, immunizations, wound care, and specimen collection; prepare instruments.
Record vital signs and ensure accurate med reconciliation.
Obtain prior authorizations for imaging and medications; coordinate follow-up appointments.
Maintain infection control; ensure supplies stocked and equipment functioning.
Protect patient privacy per HIPAA and institutional policies.
