Job summary

Care New England is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support daily clinical operations across its primary care and specialty practices in Rhode Island. The role reports to a practice leader and works under licensed providers to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

You will perform rooming, vitals, injections, and administrative tasks to ensure smooth patient flow. The ideal candidate has a medical assistant training background or equivalent experience, familiarity with EPIC EHR,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of medical assistant training program and/or 1 year of experience.
• Experience with EPIC or similar EHR systems preferred.
• Ability to perform rooming, vitals, injections, phlebotomy, and procedures safely.

Responsibilities

• Performs rooming procedures including patient identification, vital signs, and documentation in EPIC.
• Assists with procedures such as EKGs, immunizations, wound care, and specimen collection; prepares instruments.
• Monitors and records vital signs and patient conditions.
• Obtains prior authorizations for imaging studies and prescribed meds.
• Coordinates follow-up appointments and ensures paperwork is completed and filed.
