Job summary

Care New England is seeking a Medical Assistant to support daily clinical operations across primary care and specialty practices, reporting to a practice leader and working with licensed providers. Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vital signs, medical history, and documenting in EPIC.

Qualifications

• Completion of a medical assistant training program or equivalent experience.
• Six months to one year of job-related experience required.
• Experience with EPIC EMR and vital signs measurement.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to educate patients.

Responsibilities

• Performs rooming procedures including patient identification, vital signs, history intake and documentation in EPIC.
• Assists with procedures such as EKGs, immunizations, wound care, specimen collection; prepares instruments and ensures protocol adherence.
• Monitors and records vital signs (BP, height, weight, pulse, respirations, temp).
• Obtains prior authorizations for imaging studies and prescribed medications.
• Coordinates follow-up appointments and handles paperwork.
