Job summary

Kaiser Permanente Washington is seeking a Medical Assistant to join a team delivering high-quality patient care across Washington state. You will work alongside nurses, physicians, and other providers to ensure accurate data collection, proper documentation, and a compassionate patient experience.

Required credentials include a WA Medical Assistant certificate (or interim MA), active BLS, and graduation from an accredited MA program.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program or equivalent Military experience with ability to obtain MA-I prior to start date.
• Interim Medical Assistant Certificate (Washington) required at hire OR Medical Assistant Certificate (Washington) required at hire.
• Medical Assistant Certificate (Washington) within 12 months of hire.
• Basic Life Support required at hire.
• If hired as MA-I, must obtain MA-C prior to expiration of the MA-I credential.
• Knowledge and skills listed on the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Washington Medical Assistant Competencies/Skills Inventory.

Responsibilities

• Collect data about health status and vital signs; document in medical record.
• Communicate attentively with patients and coordinate care with the health team.
• Provide patient and family education aligned with the nursing care plan.
• Document history, procedures, and ensure safety and infection control per standards.
• Participate in staff orientation and performance reviews.

Education
