Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program before start date; or equivalent military experience with MA-I eligibility.
• Interim MA Certificate (Washington) required at hire or MA Certificate (Washington) required at hire.
• MA Certificate (Washington) within 12 months of hire.
• BLS certification required at hire; maintain current status.

Responsibilities

• Collect data about health status, determine visit purpose and patient needs, record vital signs and pertinent data in the medical record.
• Communicate attentively with patients; coordinate care and support the nursing plan with the team.
• Provide patient education aligned with the nursing plan and preventive care information.
• Document history and procedures accurately; ensure a safe, private environment and comply with safety and infection control policies.
• Demonstrate accountability for ongoing learning and participate in orientation and performance reviews.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Graduate of an MA program

Medical Assistant Certificate (Washington) within 12 months

Interim Medical Assistant Certificate (Washington) or MA-C eligibility
