Job summary

Community Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant for an ambulatory health care site in Seymour, IN. The MA will assist providers with patient visits, procedures, labs, referrals, and quality outcomes, using the EPIC EMR system.

Requirements include a recognized medical assisting program or equivalent combination, and MA certification within 6 months of hire. Prepare exam rooms, manage patient flow, and maintain strong patient relationships.

Qualifications

• Graduate/certificate of completion from a recognized medical assisting program OR a High School Diploma/GED + one year of medical assistant experience in a physician practice within the past three years.
• Medical Assistant certification required within 6 months of hire
• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient use including required cleaning and stocking of supplies
• Room patients and manage an efficient flow of provider’s caseload
• Obtain necessary vital signs, EKGs, and/or specimen collection
• Documentation of care using the EPIC EMR system
• Process referrals and medication refills
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff

Responsibilities

• The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting the provider of an ambulatory health care site with facilitation of patient visit and procedures, routine laboratory tests, referrals, and quality outcomes for the population of the practice.
• As an MA, you will also get to actively participate in Network quality initiatives regarding best practices.
