Tenet Physician Resources is seeking a Medical Assistant for the DMC Neurosurgery Clinic in Detroit, MI. This non-exempt office position provides direct nursing care under the direction of a physician, assists medical providers, and maintains a clean and safe environment in accordance with clinic policies.

The role includes a $1000 sign-on bonus for new hires, a comprehensive benefits package, opportunities for professional development, and a strong emphasis on patient comfort and HIPAA

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program or equivalent work experience.
• CPR/BLS Certification is required.
• Medical Assistant certification is preferred.
• Three years of relevant healthcare experience or a Medical Assistant diploma is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care in a medical office under physician supervision.
• Assists medical providers and maintains a clean, safe environment.
• Performs vital signs, history taking, medication listing, and basic exams.
• Documents in the patient chart according to policy and procedures.
• Assists with procedures, injections, and basic lab testing as needed.
• Coordinate scheduling, referrals, and pre-certifications with insurance.
