Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or DD214 in lieu of a formal program, or EMT training.
• Two years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting.
• Current BLS certification required; CMA or RMA certification per Atrium Health requirements.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Medical Assistant scope of practice and department policies.
• Perform rooming tasks: vital signs, medical history, allergies, and screenings.
• Assist providers with procedures and order entry.
• Perform lab duties: venipuncture, specimen handling, and POCT per orders.
• Administer medications and vaccines following safety rights.
• Complete administrative tasks: refills, authorizations, scheduling, referrals.
• Maintain clean, stocked work areas and proper equipment function.
• Mentor teammates and participate in committees as needed.
• Deliver age-appropriate care and document data accurately.
