Job summary

Oak Street Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to gather patient information and support providers with accurate data for clinical decisions. You will work closely with care teams to ensure an exceptional patient experience through screenings, vaccinations, and efficient rooming.

Responsibilities include maintaining room readiness, assisting with tests, EMR entries, and coordination of records while complying with state regulations. Prior experience and relevant certifications are required.

Qualifications

• State or national certification as required by state, or graduation from an accredited medical assistant program.
• 1 year experience as a medical assistant.
• CPR or BLS certification.
• Electronic Medical Record experience.
• Computer skills including Gmail, MS Word/Google Docs, Excel/Google Sheets.
• Proficiency in non-English languages as required by the center's demographics.
• US work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Ensure an efficient patient flow; room patients, take vital signs, perform screenings and medication reviews.
• Inventory supplies and stock exam rooms.
• Respond to patient requests for telephonic support (lab results, records requests, etc.).
• May administer vaccinations and point-of-care tests per state regulations.
• Import documents into EMR via scanning or PDF upload.
• Participate in care team meetings to discuss patient care and clinic operations.
• Process orders for durable medical equipment.
• Request medical records from external providers as required.
• Conduct routine quality control checks and assist in center lab maintenance.
