Job summary

Oak Street Health is hiring a Medical Assistant to join our care team. You will gather medical information, support providers, and help ensure accurate patient records and efficient clinic operations.

Responsibilities include taking vitals, screenings, phlebotomy as needed, vaccinations, and coordinating with the care team to deliver high-quality patient experiences while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• State or national certification (as required by state) or MA program graduate.
• 1 year of medical assistant experience.
• CPR or BLS certification required.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records systems.
• Proficiency with common computer programs (Gmail, Word/Docs, Excel).
• Non-English language skills may be required by center demographics.
• US work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient patient flow and room patients in a timely manner.
• Take vitals and complete required screenings.
• Stock exam rooms and inventory supplies.
• Respond to patient requests for telephonic support.
• Administer vaccinations and point-of-care tests where allowed by state regulations.
• Import documents into EMR via scanning or PDF upload.
• Participate in care team meetings and clinic operations.
• Process orders for durable medical equipment.
• Request medical records from external providers as needed.
• Support infection control and routine quality checks.
