Job summary

Thundermist Health Center is seeking a Medical Assistant to greet patients, take vitals, prepare exam rooms, and support providers with procedures. You’ll handle both clinical and administrative tasks in a busy, community-focused clinic.

We value compassionate, patient-centered care and health equity. The role is full-time at the Woonsocket location, with schedule flexibility including evenings and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Receive patients, confirm the reason for their visit, and obtain histories, vital signs.
• Prepare patients for examinations, tests, and procedures according to visit type.
• Assist providers during exams and procedures, maintaining a caring and supportive environment.
• Perform routine diagnostic tests and immunizations based on guidelines.
• Operate and maintain clinical equipment.
• Prepare instruments for sterilization and autoclaving.
• Dispose of medical waste and sharps.
• Assess the need for medication refills and update patient requests.
