Required: High school diploma, Medical Assistant Certification and BLS. Preferred: formal Medical Assistant training program. Experience handling confidential information in a fast-paced environment is expected.

Responsibilities

• Supports the patient and provider throughout the patient visit.
• Ensures the patient and provider are prepared for the visit.
• Answers patient questions prior to leaving and prepares room for next appointment.
• Provides excellent patient service through effective phone and in-person communication.
• Completes appropriate documentation including patient registration if necessary.
• Maintains clinical knowledge, skills and credentials through ongoing development.
• Adapts interactions to patient population while protecting privacy and respecting preferences.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
