Job summary

Barton Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the care team with clinical and administrative duties across the department. The MA will help schedule appointments, collect vital signs, review medications and allergies, and document in the electronic medical record to ensure complete patient records.

Successful candidates will have MA training or certification, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced ambulatory care setting while maintaining patient safety

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• College coursework in delivering care in a medical clinic preferred.
• Medical Assistant certification recognized by CA Medical Board or national agency.
• Or completion of a MA program with externship.
• Or one year of recent MA experience.
• Ability to obtain certification within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and administrative patient care as part of the care team.
• Assist with scheduling and coordinating patient appointments.
• Obtain vital signs, collect patient data and medical history.
• Prepare exam rooms and instruments; assist provider with procedures.
• Document all aspects of patient care in the EMR.
