Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform appointment scheduling and direct patient care in a clinic setting. You will support licensed clinicians, manage patient information, and assist with examinations as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; MA training preferred.
• BLS certification required; CHAM/CHAA and MA certs preferred.
• Experience in a clinic/medical office setting preferred.
• Ability to use computer and Windows applications for data entry and patient information.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to patients and guests.
• Ensure all patient forms are completed and paperwork is accurate.
• Input demographic and financial information; explain insurance benefits and collect copays.
• Record vitals and basic health history; prepare patient for exam.
• Schedule and reschedule appointments and route to appropriate departments.
• Adhere to DOT drug and alcohol testing procedures in occupational health settings.
