Job summary

Tenet Physician Resources is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to provide direct nursing care in a medical office under physician supervision. You will assist with patient assessments, medications, and routine procedures in a safe, compliant environment.

The role supports front desk activities, testing coordination, and referrals while ensuring accurate charting and patient comfort. A Medical Assistant diploma or 3 years of relevant experience is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited school or three years of relevant healthcare experience in lieu of a Medical Assistant diploma.
• CPR Certification required.
• Experience: Medical Assistant diploma or three years healthcare experience or current Medical Assistant certification.

Responsibilities

• Takes vital signs, history, medication listing, and assesses chief complaint.
• Assists physicians with treatments, exams, and procedures.
• Completes documentation in the patient record according to charting policy.
• Prepares equipment and assists with medical treatments and procedures.
• Administers prescribed medications and performs injections; venipunctures and lab testing as appropriate.
• Maintains a clean, safe environment and stocks rooms for daily schedule.
• Complies with PPE requirements to protect against exposure to hazards.
• Arranges for specialized consultations and tests ordered by physicians and coordinates referrals.
• Answers phones, assists front desk with scheduling and patient checkout.

Education

High school diploma/GED

Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited school

CPR Certification

Experience in healthcare setting (3 years)
