Job summary

Commonwealth Pain & Spine in Elizabethtown, KY is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to support both patients and healthcare providers in delivering compassionate and effective care.

You will collect medical history, assist in assessing pain levels, perform basic triage, prepare exam rooms, and coordinate with physicians and staff while maintaining HIPAA compliance and accurate EMR entries. This is an on-site position with a full benefits package including PTO, 401k and paid holidays.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Ability to type notes quickly into EMR as provider dictates.
• Strong computer and phone skills.
• Ability to multitask professionally and efficiently.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• EMR, KASPER, INSPECT knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect & update patient medical history
• Assist in assessing patients’ pain levels & documenting relevant information
• Performs triage (Blood Pressure, Heart Rate, Temperature, Weight, Height) at each visit
• Prepare exam and procedure rooms for patient encounters
• Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and staff for coordinated patient care
• Enter and scan patient information and notes in EMR
• Assist provider with pain procedures
• All other duties assigned including affiliate/contractor work
