Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers and patients in our Pain Management/ ambulatory care setting. The MA will perform clinical and administrative tasks that ensure safe, compassionate patient care.

Key duties include taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, assisting during procedures, and documenting care in the electronic health record, while collaborating with the care team to deliver high-quality care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must have a medical assistant diploma or 2 years of medical assistant experience or be a certified MA with 2 years of medical assistant experience, to qualify.
• Phlebotomy skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and support their transition into care.
• Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.
• Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
• Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
• Document care accurately in the electronic health record.
• Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care.
