Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient-centered care within an interdisciplinary team. You will perform both direct and indirect patient care activities essential for high-quality, safe patient care and an excellent patient experience.

The role requires effective communication, flexibility, and proficiency in medical terminology and phlebotomy as part of outpatient clinical settings. BLS certification is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Enrollment in or completion of an accredited medical assistant training program.
• Knowledge of general medical terminology required.
• BLS required.
• Preferred 12-18 months experience as MA/NA/PCA in outpatient setting.
• Phlebotomy skills preferred.
• Computer experience required.
• Current Medical Assistant Certification or completion within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to and from exam and/or treatment areas, rest rooms ensuring patient safety by using established organizational policies, procedures and guidelines.
