Job summary

Yale New Haven Health Services Corp. is seeking a Phlebotomist to join the Laboratory Medicine team. Under supervision, you will perform phlebotomy for patients at draw stations and support routine office tasks.

You will ensure proper specimen collection, patient identification, EMR documentation, and adherence to HIPAA and lab policies. Previous phlebotomy experience and a certification are preferred, with duties including specimen labeling, transport coordination, and customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; completion of phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Minimum six months of phlebotomy experience; healthcare/customer service background also acceptable.
• Phlebotomy certification required or in process per program.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy at draw station locations following safety guidelines.
• Review patient information and accurately document in EMR.
• Coordinate specimen transport and ensure proper labeling and handling.
• Maintain regulatory compliance and patient safety through HIPAA and lab policies.
