Job summary

St. Elizabeth HealthCare is seeking a Medical Assistant for Edgewood Primary Care. The role provides clinical support to physicians and mid-level providers, greets and prepares patients, and ensures HIPAA/OSHA/CLIA compliance.

The position emphasizes accurate charting and patient communication in a fast-paced primary care setting. The Medical Assistant will support exam rooms, assist with examinations, and help with specimens and medications under provider direction.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School Diploma/G.E.D.
• Knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
• Must have one of the following experience paths: MA/CNA/PCA/STNA/SEH Clinical Care Tech, MA program externship, SEP internship, EMT certification, or Health/Biological Sciences degree with hands-on clinical care

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients, measure vital signs and document in chart
• Document patient history and provide clear directions to patients
• Prepare the patient for the exam and assist the provider during the examination
• Perform nursing procedures under supervision of providers
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and perform basic tests
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by the provider
• Maintain logs and complete forms for revenue cycle and compliance
