Job summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and mid-level providers, performing patient intake, vital signs, and chart documentation. You will assist with exams, administer basic nursing tasks, and ensure compliance with HIPAA/OSHA regulations.

Education required includes a High School Diploma or GED, plus familiarity with MS Office applications, enabling efficient data entry and patient communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School Diploma/G.E.D.
• Knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients, measure vital signs, document in chart.
• Document patient history in chart.
• Prepare patient for exam and assist provider during examination.
• Perform nursing procedures under provider supervision.
• Collect/prepare laboratory specimens and perform basic tests.
• Administer medications as directed by provider.
• Ensure completion of forms vital to revenue cycle and reconcile orders.
• Maintain supplies and clean/sterilize exam rooms and equipment.
• Report equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
• Maintain HIPAA/OSHA compliance.
