Job summary

Pacific Neuropsychiatric Specialists is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care in a fast-paced mental health setting. You will take vitals, draw blood, administer injections, assist providers, prepare treatment rooms, and maintain accurate EMR records, while ensuring compassionate, patient-centered care.

Ideal candidates have MA certification, phlebotomy experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• MA certification required.
• Phlebotomy skills with blood draws required.
• Ability to administer injections confidently.
• Strong interpersonal and compassionate care.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with EMR and basic computer apps.
• Ability to multitask in a high-volume clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and prepare for examination.
• Record vital signs (BP, pulse, temp, height, weight).
• Perform blood draws and prepare specimens.
• Administer injections as ordered by provider.
• Assist providers during exams and procedures.
• Prepare and stock exam rooms; ensure cleanliness.
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation.
• Handle and dispose of biospecimens per policy.
• Explain instructions and follow-up care to patients.
• Assist with patient paperwork and prior authorizations.
• Monitor and reorder medical supplies.
• Adhere to infection control and HIPAA requirements.
