Job summary

PMR Virginia Holding is hiring a Medical Assistant to support a busy primary care team in the United States. You will measure vital signs, document medical history, and prepare patients for exams under physician supervision.

Strong communication and compassionate patient care are essential. You will also assist physicians, handle labs, manage medications and documentation, and help coordinate care with other clinicians.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of Medical Assistant program or comparable healthcare vocational training required.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers required.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record patient vital signs and medical history.
• Communicate patient needs to PCP and clinicians.
• Prepare patients for exams and assist physicians during examinations.
• Explain treatment procedures and physician instructions to patient.
• Collect phlebotomy and other lab specimens; perform basic waived lab tests.
• Prepare and administer medications; manage dressings and first aid under supervision.
• Maintain supplies, equipment, and sterilize instruments; follow OSHA safety standards.
• Process patient messages and relay information to physicians.
• Call in prescriptions to the pharmacy with physician approval using ChenMed Rx system.
• Provide health coaching and follow up with coached patients weekly.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
