Job summary

Hartford HealthCare Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide essential clinical and clerical support across CT offices. The role involves direct patient care under provider supervision, vital signs, health maintenance, and coordination of care with a focus on quality patient experience.

Responsibilities include documentation, point-of-care testing, and assisting with procedures, while handling scheduling, referrals, and front-desk duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program or CT CNA/EMT/Paramedic certification.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association obtained within 3 months of hire.
• All credentials must be maintained throughout employment.
• 1 year of direct patient care experience preferred.
• EPIC EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under provider supervision, including vitals, history, screenings, and health maintenance.
• Perform point-of-care testing with quality control and documentation.
• Assist providers with in-house procedures and treatments as needed.
• Provide administrative support: scheduling, referrals, check-in/out, prior authorizations and transportation.
• Floats to other Hartford HealthCare Medical Group offices as needed.
