Job summary

MercyOne Central Iowa is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to support patient care with a focus on safety, accuracy, and compassionate service. The role includes preparing patients, taking vital signs, documenting thoroughly, and assisting providers during exams and procedures.

You will coordinate schedules for labs and imaging, maintain patient charts, and assist with education and discharge planning in a fast-paced Des Moines setting.

Qualifications

• Must complete a medical assistant program accredited by CAAHP or ABHES.
• Must obtain an MA certification within one year of hire from the listed providers.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care through preparation, vital signs, and documentation.
• Administer medications, treatments, and immunizations under provider direction.
• Schedule procedures, labs, x-rays, and surgeries; provide pre- and post-surgery information.
• Educate patients and families based on assessed needs and discharge plans.
