Job summary

Nevada Health Centers is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Pahrump Family Health Center in NV. This full-time role supports pediatric and adult patients, prepares exam rooms, assists with minor procedures, and performs in-office lab work and phlebotomy.

You will work under providers, maintain infection control, document patient information, and help coordinate tests while serving underserved populations with dignity and respect.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Certificate of completion of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience.
• National certification through NHA as a Clinical Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA) with 180 days to obtain if not certified.
• BLS/CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and treatment rooms for examination and treatment.
• Take patient histories and vital signs.
• Administer injections and apply dressings as instructed.
• Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization.
• Observe infection control policies.
• Assist providers in preparing for minor surgeries and exams.
• Assist with scheduling tests and treatments.
• Complete and maintain patient documentation and records.
• Attend required meetings and participate in committees as requested.
• Maintain communication with supervisors, providers, staff and patients to ensure coordinated care.
