Job summary

Nevada Health Centers is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Las Vegas Health and Wellness Center in Las Vegas, NV. This full-time clinical position supports an outreach clinic serving unhoused individuals and other vulnerable populations.

The Medical Assistant will prepare patients, collect histories and vitals, administer injections, perform in-office lab work and phlebotomy, and assist with procedures while ensuring OSHA-compliant infection control.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Certification of completion of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience.
• National certification through NHA as a Clinical Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA). If not currently nationally certified must obtain within 180 days of employment.
• BLS/CPR Certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and treatment rooms for examination and treatment
• Take patient histories and vital signs
• Administer injections and apply dressings as instructed
• Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization
• Observes all infection control policies
• Assist providers in preparing for minor surgeries and exams
• Assist with scheduling tests and treatments
• Complete and maintain patient documentation, files, records and other information
• Attend required meetings and participate in committees as requested
• Works closely with the providers to receive guidance and instruction for treating patients
• Maintain appropriate communication and good interpersonal skills with supervisors, providers, staff and patients to ensure coordinated efforts and provision of high-quality service
