Job summary

Singing River Gulfport Hospital seeks a Medical Assistant to perform clinical and administrative tasks under direct supervision. You will assist physicians and intermediary staff, support front office operations, and help with patient care activities in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, an ABHES/CAAHEP-accredited MA program (preferred), CMA/RMA certification, BCLS, and a commitment to de-escalation training within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Graduate from a Medical Assistant program accredited by ABHES or CAAHEP preferred.
• CMA or RMA certification as applicable; must meet certifying organization’s standards.
• Must maintain BCLS certification upon hire and/or transfer; de-escalation training by 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Perform a reasonable scope of clinical and administrative tasks as delegated and under supervision.
• Assist front office personnel as directed by the Practice/Office Manager.
• Provide professional, caring patient interactions and support patient care management.
