Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Medical Assistant in Paducah Cancer Center to support providers and care teams. You will document patient information, measure vitals, assist with examinations and med administration under physician direction.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, enrollment in an MA program within 30 days, and MA certification within 12 months. This is an on-site role with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required; enrollment in MA program within 30 days of employment.
• Active MA certification within 12 months of start: CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, NRCMA (SC states caveats)
• Ability to document medical history and vital signs and to assist in examinations.

Responsibilities

• Record patients' medical history, vital statistics and information.
• Interview patients to obtain information and measure vitals.
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by physician.
• Collect samples and prepare them for testing.
• Provide prescription information and patient education.
• Explain treatments and instructions to patients.
• Maintain supplies and assist with routine lab tasks.
• Greet patients and prepare examination rooms for physicians.
